Marie Curie provides care and support to people with terminal illnesses and their families. It was established in 1948, the same year as the National Health Service.
The aim of Marie Curie's Palliative Care Consultants is to help patients have a good quality of life which can involve:
- Managing physical symptoms such as pain
- Emotional, spiritual and psychological support
- Social care, including help with things like washing, dressing or eating
- Support for family and friends.
This of course involves a lot of clinical adminstration like maintaining electronic patient records, writing clinic letters and emails.
Exonera is proud to provide and maintain Dragon Medical Practice Edition speech recognition software for Marie Curie to ensure their Palliative Care Consultants' clinical records, letters and emails are as detailed as they want them to be, but completed in a fraction of the time they take to type, and without the need of secretarial support.
This allows them to provide seamless care as records are updated faster.
"...it's a reliable system; particularly useful with the increased numbers of virtual consultations where speedy transcriptions are really helpful’-
